Zoom Account Set Up

VIRTUAL BACKGROUND ENABLE

For simplicity, you can just blur your background. However, if you would like to set up a custom background, see the directions below. 

DOWNLOAD – an image for your virtual background.
SAVE –  it to the device you’ll use during the Virtual Transfer Fair.
ADJUSTZoom Account settings.

 

1. Sign in to Zoom.
2. In the navigation menu, click Settings.
3. In the Meeting tab, scroll down to the Virtual Background option (under the In Meeting [Advanced] section) and set to enable.

ADD – your Virtual Background during the Zoom meeting.

1. Start or join your Zoom meeting.
2. Click the Start Video or Stop Video drop-down arrow/button.
3. Click Choose Virtual Background.
4. Click the +”  sign to add a virtual background.

 

5. Click Add Image to locate your saved virtual background file (most likely, you will need to look in your Downloads folder).
6. Select the virtual background, click Open.
7. Your virtual background should appear in the Zoom video preview window.
8. Close the Settings window, and your background will appear in the Zoom meeting.

ACTIVATE CLOSED-CAPTIONING

1. Log into the Zoom meeting.
2. See the Show Captions tab at the bottom of the Zoom meeting screen. (see red arrow below) Click on Closed Caption.

3. Zoom will ask you to select the language that will appear in captions for everyone on the call. Select the preferred language using the drop down menu and click  Save.
4. The system will tell everyone on the call that:
     “A Participant has enabled Closed Captioning.”
“Who can see this transcript?”
“A participant has set the speaking language to: _____.”
5. Once closed-captioning has been turned on for the Zoom meeting, each sttendee will need to turn on captions on their own device by clicking Show Captions.
