FY23 Budget Supports Community Colleges

The Governor’s budget for FY2023, as proposed, recognizes the critical mission of community colleges – to provide responsive, affordable, quality education to hundreds of thousands of Marylanders seeking degrees, and in-demand workforce credentials.

If approved, the budget will allow Maryland’s community colleges to

  • Prepare more students for key workforce shortage areas – esp. critical – early nursing and teaching credentials
  • Develop more programs that are responsive to current and evolving marketplace and employer needs
  • Expand student services – bolstering student program completion and leading to gainful employment
