“By 2031, 72 percent of jobs in the US will require postsecondary education and/or training.”…“These latest projections demonstrate the central role postsecondary education plays in
preparing the workforce of the future.”  — Georgetown Center on Education and the Workforce 
Keeping community college affordable is critical for Maryland’s future. 

GRAPH below shows the education level required for jobs that will be available in 2031.
Only 28% of jobs will go to workers with a high school education of less.
In 2021 it was 32%. In 1983 it was 68%.
