NEW Community College Promise Scholarships & Near-completer

In May of 2018, Maryland approved 2 important financial aid programs to help more Marylanders obtain education and training beyond high school. Both programs will begin in academic year 2019-2020.

Community College Promise Scholarship program

With the Community College Promise scholarship program, eligible students will be able to attend community college tuition-free. Maryland has earmarked $15 million per year to help low- and middle-income students attend community college full-time.

 

Near-completer Grant program

With the Near-completer Grant program, eligible adults, looking to complete their degrees may receive grants for up to one-third of their tuition at a 2-year or 4-year institution.
