Since 1958, Prince George's Community College (PGCC) has provided high quality educational opportunities for a richly diverse population, preparing students to transfer to a four-year institution, embark on a new career, or upgrade current employment skills. The college maximizes access to high quality, convenient, and affordable academic, workforce development, and continuing education programs.
Each year, hundreds of students earn associate’s degrees, certificates or letters of recognition during the college’s annual commencement. Additionally, students have received the largest number of transfer scholarships from the University of Maryland University College, have been selected as New Century Scholars and named to the All USA Academic Team by USA Today. Students also flourish in the college’s Honors Academy and Honors Program and transfer to four-year colleges and universities, regionally and nationally, through articulation agreements.
